The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning which is valid from 22:00 December 23 until 16:00 Tuesday afternoon.
According to the forecast, rain at times and isolated thunderstorms are expected to affect the area. The total rain accumulation is locally likely to exceed 50 millimeters in a 6 hour period.
Moreover strong to near gale southwesterly winds with a mean speed of 6 to 7 Beaufort are also expected.
Citizens are advised to be aware of the possibility of flooding of a small number of properties, with local disruption to outdoor activities. Difficult driving conditions due to reduced visibility and aquaplaning are also expected.
