The Disney animated movie has enjoyed the third-best start for a film of its kind with a $127 million domestic box office in its opening week.
This comes behind ‘Incredibles 2’ and ‘Finding Dory’ who kicked their opening weeks off with $182 and $135 million respectively.
Overseas, ‘Frozen 2’ amassed $223 million for the total worldwide figure for $350 million. Should the movie sustain its momentum it may become the sixth Disney movie to generate over $1 billion at the box office this year.

The original ‘Frozen‘ was released during a similar time of the year in 2013 and went on to make $93 million in a span of five days.
‘Frozen 2‘ has been given an A- by audiences according to CinemaScore (a US-based market research firm based that surveys film audiences to rate their viewing experiences and forecasts box office receipts based on the data), which is slightly less encouraging than the original’s A+ score.
‘Frozen 2‘ stars Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Gross, and Josh Gad.
