Cyprus recorded inflation of 0.5% in November on an annual basis. A deflation of 0.5% was recorded on a monthly basis.
The harmonized index of consumer prices in November was up by 0.5% compared to November 2018, a Cyprus Statistical Service press release says. In relation to the previous month, it fell by 0.5%.
During the period of January – November 2019, an increase of 0.5% was observed compared to the same period of the previous year, the press release adds.
In November, the greatest change was recorded in the category of transport which increased by 3%. In relation to October 2018, the greatest change was recorded in the category of restaurants and hotels, recording a drop of 5.1%.
During the first eleven months of this year compared with the same period last year the greatest change was observed in the category of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels which recorded an increase of 4.4%.
The greatest annual change in economic categories this November was observed in the category of energy with a drop of 5.7%. In relation to the previous month of this year, the greatest change was observed in the category of services with a drop of 1.5%.
