For Simple syrup
3 cups sugar
2 cup water
A piece of cinnamon stick for flavor (optional)
Bring everything to a boil while stirring constantly until dissolved and let it cool.
1 pack of Filo pastry approximately 30 sheets
For the filling
200gr almonds finely chopped
3 tbsp white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon grounded
1 cup sunflower oil for basting
Firstly, we prepare the simple syrup!
Once, syrup is ready we lay the filo pastry flat on a clean surface!
According we follow the steps as presented in video tutorial…
We bake at a preheated oven at 180C in 5-7 minutes intervals rotating the to have a nice rose gold color. Baking should take approximately 30mins.
Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and cold with nice cup of coffee!
